Operation: Pasture Pig <again>

It’s such a hard concept to grasp that we wouldn’t want to feed our animals grain. I remember when we picked up the first three and we asked what they were feeding… I distinctly remember the look on her face 🫣when it comes to kunes they thrive on pasture! There’s an enormous amount of health benefits to both the animal and the consumer when you cut out the grain program and switch entirely to a pasture based system. There’s tons of research and publications out there so you won’t have to look far!

After moving last summer with little notice and even smaller amount of infrastructure in place, my KK heard ended up in the barnyard over the winter in order to keep them warm and waters from freezing, in that time they ended up on grain. Our easiest keepers on the ranch quickly became our sicker of the animals!

Today everyone but the sow and her piglets went out to their new lush green pasture as they progress through their journey to return to a totally grain free and 💯 natural diet!
